My little "how-to" missive, Tripping on a Shoestring, was published this year and is available on Amazon.com. Also as an eBook should you be interested in that format.
If you have ever had the urge to just be able to "get up and go, get out of jail free" this little book might help you gear up. What I like to do is be ready to go without a lot of planning, packing, and preparing prior to piling in the vehicle and heading out into the great unknown.
Just finishing up my fifth year of small 3 to 9 day adventures around the Pacific Northwest, I am ready for May, 2014 and starting my sixth year. Come along with me as I talk to you about trips past and in the hopper for the future. Who knows? We may meet on the trail! And you never know what you might find. It might be a friendly bug sunning his belly.
Nice. I look forward to following even more of your adventures on this blog. I'm curious, and perhaps you'll full us in with future posts, what kind of reception you've found from locals in some of the REALLY out of the way places you've ventured in the Oregon back country. Thanks for this.
ReplyDeleteWhile "really out of the way" I rarely find other people. As for locals, well they are generally impervious to "us tourists" but while in campgrounds I do get quite a few questions. Hence the book. The beauty of traveling in a van, as apposed to larger motor home type vehicles, is that you can, indeed, venture into those "out of the way" places.
DeleteI am so proud of you, you did such a good job writing about your travels. Your book is filled with many good ideas for an individual that would like to go camping and exploring. You are an inspiration for all of us, to get out in the fresh air, explore the trails and camping areas not far from home.
